On November 5, in Washington, D.C., Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y. Akkenzhenov held a meeting with the Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (OFAC), Bradley Smith.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to minimize unintended consequences of U.S. sanctions policy for Kazakhstan’s economy and reviewed practical aspects of bilateral cooperation.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an open, pragmatic, and transparent dialogue based on mutual respect and agreed to continue consultations.
