The Vice President of Switzerland confirmed interest in deepening the partnership with Kazakhstan

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held a meeting with Guy Parmelin, Vice President of Switzerland and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, DKNews.kz reports.

During the negotiations, the parties reaffirmed the importance of the agreements reached following Vice President Parmelin’s meetings with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, which took place on 28 November 2025 in Astana.

The discussions included an exchange of views on intensifying cooperation in political and trade-economic spheres, including industry, transport and logistics, digitalization, healthcare and finance.

The interlocutors also reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Astana and Bern, confirming their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue.

Minister Kosherbayev noted that Vice President Parmelin’s recent visit to Kazakhstan gave a new impetus to the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, the Vice President of Switzerland emphasized that his substantive meetings with the leadership of Kazakhstan, as well as the participation of a high-level business delegation in the 5th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Switzerland Business Council in Astana reaffirmed the shared commitment to deepening mutually beneficial partnership.
