At the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Shanghai, Consul General Nurlan Akkoshkarov held a working meeting with Ms. Chen Yanqin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, DKNews.kz reports.
Ms. Chen congratulated the Consul General on his appointment and confirmed Zhejiang’s interest in developing practical and mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan.
A new boost for regional ties
In return, Nurlan Akkoshkarov reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to maintain close cooperation and help build direct connections between:
- government institutions
- business communities
- academic and research organizations
of both countries.
Economy, investment and cultural exchanges - key priorities
During the talks, the parties discussed:
- trade and investment cooperation
- participation in major tech exhibitions and forums
- cultural and educational exchanges
- expansion of direct business contacts
Special attention was given to creating clearer and faster mechanisms for businesses.

Agreement to stay in close contact
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to maintain regular information exchange on priority areas of cooperation.

For many years, Zhejiang has been one of China’s leading innovation, industrial and logistics centers.
According to Chinese statistics, in 2024 the province’s GRP reached:
USD 1.27 trillion (+5.5%) - 4th among all regions of China.
For Kazakhstan, this means - markets, technology, investment and strong transport corridors.
