Interest in natural stones from Kazakhstan is growing in China - and this may become a new driver for exports and joint projects, DKNews.kz reports.
Valikhan Sarsembekov, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Guangzhou, took part in the opening ceremony of Rayya Materials Group Pye. Ltd., a brand specializing in products made from Kazakh jadeite. The event was held at the Guangdong Gem & Jade Exchange - one of China’s key gemstone markets.
Business representatives, industry experts and the leadership of the center attended the ceremony.
“Kazakh jadeite is entering the world’s largest market”
Speaking at the event, the Consul General stressed:
Promoting Kazakh jadeite in the world’s largest stone products market strengthens Kazakhstan’s position as a reliable supplier of high-quality natural resources.
In essence, this marks the development of a new export direction - focused not only on raw materials, but also on processing and added value.
Symbol of friendship: 11 tons of jadeite presented to China
A symbolic moment drew special attention - the presentation of an 11-ton piece of Kazakh jadeite to Guangdong Province.
The theme was:
“Jade - a symbol of friendship: Kazakhstan and China in peace and harmony.”
The gesture underlined cultural connections and growing mutual trust between the two countries.
Strategic agreement signed with a Chinese premium retailer
During the event, the companies:
- Rayya Materials Group Pye. Ltd.
- Sia Home, one of China’s leading premium retailers
signed a strategic supply agreement.
This means Kazakh jadeite will increasingly enter the premium interior and design segments.
Why it matters for Kazakhstan
The event highlighted several trends:
- rising international interest in Kazakhstan’s natural materials
- strengthening export potential in minerals
- growing role of creative and design industries
In other words, the vector is shifting: from raw extraction - to product, brand and storytelling.
