“Friends of Kazakhstan Club” meets in Beijing - diplomats and experts discuss the region’s future

The Cultural Center of Kazakhstan hosted the 8th meeting of the “Friends of Kazakhstan Club” - a platform that for years has been bringing together diplomats, scholars and experts focused on Central Asia, DKNews.kz reports.

Participants included former Chinese ambassadors to Kazakhstan, representatives of government agencies, academia and leading research institutes. The discussion was lively, substantive and open.

Kazakhstan as a pillar of regional stability

The key topic was Kazakhstan’s role in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia. Speakers emphasized:

  • new opportunities in bilateral cooperation
  • alignment of national development strategies
  • Kazakhstan’s participation in regional and global initiatives
  • stronger expert dialogue between the two countries

Key messages from the Ambassador

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Shakhrat Nuryshev presented a comprehensive overview of the political and socio-economic reforms underway in Kazakhstan.

He highlighted that:

  • modernization of public governance
  • strengthening the rule of law
  • development of state institutions
  • consistent promotion of the “Fair Kazakhstan” concept

are creating a new foundation for cooperation with partners, including China.

He also underlined the positive dynamics of bilateral relations, noting the steady development of the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership.

  • transport and logistics connectivity
  • cultural and humanitarian exchanges

What Chinese diplomats highlighted

Former Chinese ambassadors and experts highly praised the contribution of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to strengthening relations between Kazakhstan and China.

They stressed:

  • the consistency of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy
  • high political trust between Astana and Beijing
  • Kazakhstan’s special role in Central Asia

According to participants, cooperation between the two countries is becoming a key factor for the region’s sustainable development.
