Kazakhstan and Russia: what projects will launch in 2026

In Omsk, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a working meeting with Evgeniya Genova, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Omsk, DKNews.kz reports.

The main goal was to review the results of cooperation over the past year and outline priorities for further joint work.

Results of 2025 and new priorities

The sides discussed key areas of Kazakhstan–Russia cooperation at the interregional level.

The conversation focused not only on diplomacy, but also on practical projects that are already delivering results.

Culture, education and science as the foundation of dialogue

A separate part of the meeting was devoted to the humanitarian agenda.

Special attention was paid to:

  • developing cultural ties
  • joint educational initiatives
  • scientific cooperation
  • public and cultural events

All of this is aimed at strengthening friendship, trust and good-neighborly relations between the two nations.

Consular issues and future plans

The sides also discussed consular cooperation and exchanged views on current bilateral issues.

They outlined plans for 2026 - including preparations for the 22nd Kazakhstan–Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum to be held in Omsk.

Traditionally, this platform brings together real projects and practical solutions, from the economy to social initiatives.

A shared commitment to move forward

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening constructive dialogue and developing practical cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
