Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Moldova, Almat Aidarbekov, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, DKNews.kz reports.
The main focus of the talks was to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and expand cooperation between Astana and Chisinau.

Congratulations and readiness for closer partnership
The Ambassador congratulated Igor Grosu on being reappointed as Speaker and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to progress.

Both sides emphasized that stable parliamentary contacts help deliver practical results in the interests of citizens.
Reforms in Kazakhstan and the regional agenda
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on regional and international developments and discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation.
Almat Aidarbekov briefed the Speaker on ongoing political and social reforms in Kazakhstan and highlighted key elements of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address to the Nation.

Special attention was paid to:
- parliamentary reforms
- institutional development
- the initiative to establish the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development
Kazakhstan’s foreign policy initiatives
The Ambassador also spoke about the President’s international engagements, including participation in the UN General Assembly and visits to China, the United States, Russia and Uzbekistan.
He highlighted President Tokayev’s remarks at the forum in Turkmenistan dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality, focusing on:
- peace
- trust
- interfaith dialogue
The meeting also touched on the recent visit of the President of the European Council to Astana and agreements to continue cooperation.
Moldova’s perspective
Igor Grosu praised Kazakhstan’s active foreign policy and international initiatives.
He noted the important role of parliamentary friendship groups and stressed that opening a Moldovan Embassy in Astana will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties.
The sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to:
- maintaining regular political dialogue
- developing inter-parliamentary contacts
- expanding practical cooperation in areas of common interest.
