Starting from January 1, 2026, Kazakhstan has officially launched the state digital project e-Residency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, giving foreign citizens the opportunity to obtain a digital identity and access a wide range of the country’s digital and financial services, DKNews.kz reports.
The new initiative allows foreigners to receive an official digital status in Kazakhstan and use both government and commercial online services remotely, without the need to be physically present in the country.
What e-Residency offers
The e-Residency program is designed for foreign nationals who want to interact with Kazakhstan’s digital ecosystem — whether for personal, business or investment purposes.
Key features of e-Residency include:
- obtaining an Individual Identification Number (IIN) of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- issuing an electronic digital signature;
- remote access to banking and financial services;
- use of government digital services;
- access to business and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan.
With this status, foreign citizens can legally and securely use essential digital tools that are normally available only to residents.
