Kazakhstan and Mongolia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across key economic and humanitarian sectors. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Almas Seitakynov and Mongolia’s Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Myagmarsuren Badamsuren, who also chairs the Kazakhstan-Mongolia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, DKNews.kz reports.

The meeting was attended by senior Mongolian officials and lawmakers, including Minister for Family, Labour and Social Protection Telukhan Aubakir, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chair of the Kazakhstan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group Khazhekber Jangabyl, as well as Member of Parliament Sarkhad Zulpkhar. The high-level participation highlighted the importance both sides attach to advancing bilateral dialogue.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in agriculture, transport and logistics, light industry, tourism, education and culture. They also discussed opportunities to increase bilateral trade turnover and identify new areas for economic growth.

Particular attention was paid to expanding direct business-to-business contacts between relevant government agencies and the private sector. The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening industrial cooperation and implementing joint projects that could give fresh momentum to economic ties.

The participants also noted the key role played by parliamentary friendship groups in promoting bilateral relations and strengthening people-to-people connections between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize the 10th anniversary meeting of the Kazakhstan-Mongolia Intergovernmental Commission, which is scheduled to take place in Astana in 2026. The upcoming session is expected to serve as an important platform for further deepening cooperation and outlining new areas of partnership.
