Future Cooperation of the Turkic World Discussed in Budapest

A meeting of the Ambassadors of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) accredited in Budapest was held at the invitation of the incumbent Chair of the Organization - Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Hungary, Tahir Taghizade, DKNews.kz reports.

The gathering focused on Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States for the 2025-2026 period. During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side presented its key priorities and work plan, outlining its vision for strengthening cooperation among Turkic states and advancing the Organization’s role on the international stage.

Particular attention was paid to practical cooperation and joint initiatives to be implemented in Budapest. The participants discussed the organization of a range of common events aimed at enhancing dialogue, cultural exchange, and coordination among the member states of the Organization of Turkic States.

One of the central topics was the joint celebration of the upcoming Nauruz holiday. The ambassadors noted that Nauruz is not only an important cultural tradition shared by Turkic peoples, but also a powerful symbol of unity, renewal, and shared heritage. Joint celebrations, they emphasized, can serve as an effective tool of cultural diplomacy and help promote Turkic culture in Europe.

In addition, plans were considered for holding various joint meetings, forums, and events in the Hungarian capital in the near future. Budapest was highlighted as an important platform for strengthening engagement between the Turkic states and international partners.

The meeting took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment of OTS member states to deepen cooperation, expand joint initiatives, and further consolidate their presence and voice on the global stage.
