Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Kuwait Yerzhan Yelekeyev held a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) Essa Al-Maraghi, highlighting growing interest in strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries, DKNews.kz reports.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kuwait, with a particular focus on potential areas of interaction in the energy sector. Both sides emphasized the importance of energy as a key pillar of economic partnership and noted the mutual benefits of closer engagement.
KUFPEC’s management expressed strong interest in exploring opportunities in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry. The company announced that it has begun a preliminary assessment of Kazakhstan’s investment potential, including possible involvement in upstream and gas-sector projects.
The sides also confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue and exchange information to identify promising areas of cooperation. Special attention was given to the possibility of KUFPEC’s participation in gas-sector projects in Kazakhstan in the medium term.
