Ambassador of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Burshakov met with Antoni Peshev, Director General of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, to discuss ways to strengthen trade, investment and business cooperation between the two countries, DKNews.kz reports.

Kazakhstan’s economic priorities in focus

During the meeting, the Macedonian side was briefed on Kazakhstan’s key foreign policy and foreign economic priorities. Ambassador Burshakov outlined the main messages from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s January interview with Kazakh media, as well as the President’s November address to rural district akims, which emphasized regional development, entrepreneurship and investment attraction.

According to the ambassador, these policy directions form a solid foundation for expanding practical economic cooperation with international partners, including countries of Southeast Europe.

From trade to joint investment projects

Special attention was paid to concrete opportunities for expanding business contacts and boosting mutual trade. The sides discussed the possibility of establishing a Kazakhstan–North Macedonia Business Council, which could become a permanent platform for dialogue between entrepreneurs and help turn interest into real projects.

Prospects for participation in mutually beneficial investment initiatives were also explored, with both sides noting growing interest in cooperation across various sectors.

Business events and export promotion

To support the confirmed mutual readiness to promote business cooperation, the Embassy of Kazakhstan presented a list of exhibitions and business conferences scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan in 2026. These events are expected to serve as practical venues for networking, partnership building and market entry.

In addition, information was shared on opportunities to promote Kazakh exports on the Macedonian market, highlighting potential areas where Kazakh products and services could find new demand.

Dialogue aimed at results

The meeting underscored a shared interest in moving from dialogue to concrete outcomes. Observers note that closer engagement between Kazakhstan and North Macedonia could open new opportunities for businesses on both sides and contribute to stronger economic ties between Central Asia and Southeast Europe.
