Kazakhstan and Hungary Prepare Joint Projects for 2026

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, Abzal Saparbekuly, held separate working meetings with the Honorary Consuls of Kazakhstan in Hungary — László Horváth and Gábor Sági. The discussions focused on strengthening Kazakh–Hungarian cooperation at the regional level and outlining priorities for the coming year, DKNews.kz reports.

Focus on Economy, Investment, and Regions

During the meetings, the parties discussed key issues related to the development of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary. Particular attention was given to practical interaction in the fields of economy, investment, logistics, agriculture, tourism, and culture.

The Ambassador noted that regional engagement plays a crucial role in giving bilateral relations concrete substance, opening new opportunities for business cooperation and people-to-people contacts.

Reviewing 2025 Results and Planning for 2026

A separate part of the discussions was devoted to reviewing the results of joint activities in 2025 and shaping plans for 2026. These plans include the organisation of joint economic, cultural, and cultural-humanitarian events aimed at deepening cooperation between regions of the two countries.

The meetings also addressed practical aspects of regional-level interaction and the current cultural and humanitarian agenda, which is seen as an important pillar of Kazakh–Hungarian relations.

Role of Honorary Consuls

Ambassador Saparbekuly подчеркнул the important role of the Honorary Consuls in promoting trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian ties, as well as in strengthening Kazakhstan’s positive image across Hungarian regions.

In turn, the Honorary Consuls shared information about their current and planned activities within their consular districts, presented proposals for expanding practical cooperation, and expressed readiness to further coordinate joint initiatives with the Embassy.

Regular Dialogue to Continue

Following the meetings, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts and continue cooperation in priority areas of Kazakh–Hungarian relations, with a strong emphasis on regional engagement as a driver of bilateral partnership.

The consular district of László Horváth includes the city of Karcag and covers the counties of Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád, Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Pest, and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. The consular district of Gábor Sági includes the city of Veszprém and covers the counties of Vas, Veszprém, and Fejér.
