A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Greece, Timur Sultangozhin, and the newly appointed Director of the A5 Political Department of the Hellenic Republic’s Foreign Ministry, Eleni Triantafyllou, who oversees cooperation with Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia, DKNews.kz reports.
The talks marked another step toward deepening the political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation between the two countries.
Focus on Agreements and High-Level Contacts
During the meeting, the sides held a thorough exchange of views on the current state and future prospects of Kazakh-Greek relations. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached at the highest and high levels, as well as to coordinating the schedule of mutual visits and expanding contacts between relevant ministries and government agencies.
The interlocutors noted that strengthening interagency cooperation would help give bilateral relations greater practical substance.
Economy and Investment in the Spotlight
A separate segment of the discussion focused on expanding the bilateral legal and treaty framework, viewed as one of the key instruments for ensuring the sustainable and progressive development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Greece.
The Kazakh side also emphasized its interest in intensifying direct contacts between business communities, attracting Greek investment, and jointly implementing promising economic projects in priority sectors.
Political Reforms in Kazakhstan
Ambassador Timur Sultangozhin briefed his Greek counterpart on the large-scale political and constitutional reforms announced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting of the National Kurultai. He noted that the reforms aim to strengthen public institutions, modernize governance, and promote sustainable development.
Eleni Triantafyllou highly praised Kazakhstan’s steady development and the reforms being carried out, confirmed the high level of bilateral relations, and expressed Greece’s readiness to continue facilitating their further deepening and enriching them with practical content.
Shared Views on International Issues
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current regional and international issues, confirming the coincidence or closeness of their positions on a number of key topics and their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue.
