Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev received Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Monika Iwersen. The meeting focused on the current state of bilateral relations and priorities for their further development, DKNews.kz reports.

Focus on trade, investment and business ties

During the talks, both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation in trade and investment. Minister Kosherbayev emphasized the need to advance joint investment projects and expand business-to-business engagement between Kazakh and German companies.

Germany remains one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in Europe, particularly in industrial cooperation, technology, and high value-added production. Expanding direct business contacts was highlighted as a practical step toward unlocking new economic opportunities.

Cultural exchange as a long-term bridge

In addition to economic cooperation, the parties discussed cultural and humanitarian exchange. Educational programs, cultural initiatives and people-to-people contacts were described as an important foundation for long-term partnership and mutual understanding.

Such cooperation helps build trust and ensures that bilateral relations develop not only at the governmental level, but also between societies.

Ambassador Monika Iwersen reaffirmed Berlin’s commitment to further deepening cooperation with Astana. She noted that Germany is interested in strengthening ties both on a bilateral basis and within international organizations.

This approach reflects the shared interest of both countries in dialogue and coordination on regional and global challenges.
