An event titled “Enhancing Economic Cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan” was held in Istanbul at the initiative of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the international business platform Dünya Türk Ticaret Platformu. The meeting brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and business associations from both countries, DKNews.kz reports.
The event aimed to strengthen direct business contacts and explore new opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
Focus on investment, exports, and tourism
The discussions centered on attracting foreign direct investment to Kazakhstan, promoting non-resource exports, and supporting the sustainable development of the tourism sector. Expanding business-to-business ties between Kazakh and Turkish entrepreneurs was identified as a key priority.
In the context of global economic transformation, such platforms are increasingly seen as practical tools for turning interest into concrete projects.

Kazakhstan’s economic potential for Turkish business
Participants were presented with Kazakhstan’s economic potential, including priority development sectors and investment opportunities available to Turkish companies. Special attention was given to existing government support measures designed to facilitate foreign investment and business operations.
Sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, agro-industry, trade, and tourism were highlighted as areas with strong growth potential and mutual interest.
“Kazakhstan is open for business”
In his welcoming remarks, Nuriddin Amankul, Consul General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, emphasized the steady development of Kazakh–Turkish relations and the favorable business environment in Kazakhstan.
He noted the country’s strong potential in manufacturing, exports, and tourism, and stressed that practical dialogue between business communities plays a decisive role in launching mutually beneficial projects.

Strong interest from Turkish entrepreneurs
Ahmet Ortatepe, Chairman of the Dünya Türk Ticaret Platformu, which unites more than 1,500 business representatives, highlighted the strong interest of the Turkish business community in cooperation with Kazakhstan.
According to him, Turkish companies see Kazakhstan as a promising market for investment and long-term partnerships and are ready to further expand cooperation.
More than 200 business representatives from various sectors took part in the event, including industry, logistics, agro-industrial production, trade, tourism, and services.
From dialogue to concrete cooperation
The event concluded with B2B meetings, where participants discussed future areas of cooperation, potential joint projects, and specific partnership formats. These direct negotiations allowed businesses to move from general discussions to practical steps.

Why this matters
Economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye is increasingly shifting from trade toward investment, joint production, and tourism development. The Istanbul meeting demonstrated that interest from both sides is backed by real opportunities and a readiness to work together on concrete initiatives.
