Children’s healthcare remains one of the most sensitive and important areas of social development. In Kazakhstan, this sphere is increasingly supported through partnerships between business and philanthropy, producing tangible and life-saving results. One such example is the collaboration between the L’aroush jewelry house and the Saby Foundation in Semey, DKNews.kz reports.
As part of their charitable partnership, L’aroush donated modern electrosurgical equipment to the emergency pediatric surgery department of Semey Medical University. The new technology significantly expands the hospital’s capacity to perform complex surgical procedures on children.

Advanced technology for pediatric surgery
Under the project, the medical facility received the Valleylab VLFT10LSGEN electrosurgical vessel-sealing system — a high-tech solution designed for abdominal, thoracic, and urological surgeries in pediatric patients.
The system enables precise tissue cutting and coagulation, as well as reliable vessel sealing with minimal thermal impact. This is achieved through intelligent energy adaptation to tissue type and the use of LigaSure technology — a critical advantage when operating on children, where precision and safety are paramount.
According to medical specialists, the equipment allows surgical procedures to be shortened by an average of 15–20 minutes, while also reducing blood loss and the risk of complications. The hospital estimates that the device can be used in up to 250 surgeries per year, significantly enhancing doctors’ capabilities and improving the quality of care for children across the region.

Long-term support for children’s healthcare
For many years, the Saby Foundation has consistently supported the development of healthcare in Kazakhstan, with a particular focus on emergency pediatric care. Semey Medical University is one of the foundation’s key beneficiaries.
Previously, an emergency pediatric surgery department was built and fully equipped at the university, becoming a specialized care center for children from East Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. The newly donated equipment further strengthens this medical infrastructure.
“Supporting children’s health is one of our key priorities. We aim to strengthen medical institutions in a comprehensive way by equipping them with modern technology, so doctors can provide care to children as effectively and safely as possible. The transfer of this device is another important step in the development of surgical care in the region,” said Assel Tasmagambetova, President of the Saby Charitable Foundation.
Social responsibility beyond aesthetics
For L’aroush, participation in the project was not a one-off charitable gesture but a natural extension of the brand’s social mission. Founded by a mother and daughter, the jewelry house has always been guided by values of care, generational continuity, and support for women and children.
Its partnership with the Saby Foundation reflects L’aroush’s desire to contribute not only to the world of aesthetics, but also to meaningful social change with real impact.
“For us, it is important that beauty has meaning. Supporting projects that genuinely help children and enable doctors to save lives is a natural continuation of L’aroush’s philosophy and our responsibility to society,” said Shynar Suyendykova, co-founder of the L’aroush jewelry house.
When business and charity save lives together
This initiative demonstrates how collaboration between business and philanthropy can deliver real, measurable results — not in reports or statistics, but in lives improved and lives saved.
Modern equipment, professional medical teams, and sustained support form the foundation of effective pediatric healthcare. In this case, beauty has truly found its purpose.
