Kazakhstan and Poland reaffirm strategic partnership during high-level talks in Astana

Kazakhstan and Poland have signaled their intention to further strengthen bilateral relations following a meeting in Astana between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Wojciech Zajączkowski. The Polish diplomat arrived in the Kazakh capital to take part in scheduled political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, передает DKNews.kz.

The talks focused on deepening cooperation across a broad agenda, including political dialogue, trade and economic ties, and cultural and humanitarian exchange. The sides also exchanged views on key international and regional developments, underscoring the importance of coordination in a rapidly changing global environment.

Poland as a key partner in the European Union

During the meeting, Minister Kosherbayev emphasized that Poland remains one of Kazakhstan’s most important partners within the European Union. He noted that while diplomatic relations between the two countries officially span 34 years, the historical roots of Kazakh-Polish ties extend much further, forming a solid foundation for today’s cooperation.

According to the Kazakh side, the relationship has evolved into a stable and pragmatic partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests.

Warsaw’s commitment to closer cooperation

Deputy Minister Zajączkowski reaffirmed Poland’s commitment to consistently strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan. He highlighted the importance of maintaining the high level of bilateral relations and expressed Warsaw’s interest in expanding practical engagement with Astana in various areas.

Poland views Kazakhstan as a reliable partner in Central Asia and an important interlocutor in fostering dialogue between the region and the European Union.

Economy, investment and plans for 2026

A significant part of the discussion was devoted to trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The diplomats exchanged views on current interaction and explored opportunities to further boost business ties and investment flows.

In addition, the sides reviewed the schedule of bilateral events planned for 2026, signaling a long-term and systematic approach to developing the relationship.

Dialogue without pauses

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in continuing a substantive and forward-looking dialogue aimed at enhancing comprehensive cooperation between Kazakhstan and Poland.

The talks in Astana once again demonstrated that Kazakh-Polish relations are not driven by short-term considerations, but by a shared commitment to building a durable partnership with a clear focus on the future.
