Kazakhstan and Jordan are moving toward closer coordination on international platforms, turning diplomatic dialogue into practical cooperation. A meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Talgat Shaldanbay and Ali Al-Basoul, Director of the Department of International Organizations at Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, took place in Amman and focused on joint work within multilateral institutions, DKNews.kz reports.

The talks reflected a shared understanding that cooperation through international organizations remains one of the most effective tools for advancing common interests and responding to global challenges.

Support for initiatives and shared positions

During the meeting, the Kazakh Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Jordanian side for its consistent support of Kazakhstan’s initiatives at the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Islamic Organization for Food Security, and other multilateral formats.

Special attention was paid to constructive cooperation on issues related to the institutional development of international mechanisms. Both sides emphasized that such interaction allows countries not only to participate in global processes, but also to contribute to improving the effectiveness of international institutions.

National Kurultai and the reform agenda

A significant part of the discussion was devoted to domestic developments in Kazakhstan. Ambassador Shaldanbay briefed his counterpart on the main outcomes of the 5th session of the National Kurultai of Kazakhstan.

He outlined the key priorities for the country’s further development, including large-scale political and constitutional reforms. These changes, aimed at modernizing the political system and strengthening governance, were presented as part of Kazakhstan’s long-term strategy for sustainable development.

Mutual support on multilateral platforms

The interlocutors confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening coordination through international organizations. This includes continuing the practice of mutual support for candidates and initiatives put forward by Kazakhstan and Jordan at multilateral forums.

Such cooperation, the sides noted, helps both countries reinforce their positions internationally and promote shared approaches on issues of global and regional importance.

Partnership-focused dialogue

Following the meeting, both parties expressed readiness to maintain close coordination and deepen cooperation through international organizations in a spirit of partnership and trust.

Against the backdrop of growing global uncertainty, the dialogue between Kazakhstan and Jordan highlights the importance of steady, coordinated diplomacy and demonstrates how middle powers can work together effectively within multilateral frameworks.
