Kazakhstan and Türkiye continue to strengthen their long-standing partnership at the highest political level. During an official visit to Ankara, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev was received by President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, confirming the steady momentum in bilateral relations, DKNews.kz reports.

The meeting highlighted the dynamic development of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of an enhanced strategic partnership. President Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of relations and emphasized the importance of further deepening comprehensive and multifaceted engagement between Ankara and Astana.

Message from President Tokayev

During the talks, Minister Kosherbayev conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Turkish President on behalf of Kazakhstan’s Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also briefed President Erdoğan on the progress being made in implementing agreements reached earlier at the highest and high levels.

This exchange underscored continuity in political dialogue and a shared commitment to ensuring that previously agreed initiatives move forward in practice, not just on paper.

Brotherhood as the foundation of ties

A central theme of the meeting was the special nature of Kazakh-Turkish relations, which both sides described as being rooted in brotherhood and strong friendship. Against this backdrop, the parties discussed concrete avenues for further strengthening cooperation, including political coordination and broader international engagement.

Particular attention was paid to close coordination between Kazakhstan and Türkiye within international organizations. Both sides highly appreciated their interaction in multilateral formats, including within the framework of Turkic integration, which remains a key pillar of their foreign policy cooperation.

Shared views on global and regional issues

The discussion also revealed a strong convergence of positions on major global and regional issues. According to the participants, this similarity of views creates additional opportunities for joint initiatives and coordinated action on the international stage.

The meeting in Ankara once again demonstrated that relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye are evolving beyond traditional diplomacy, gaining strategic depth and practical substance. In the current global environment, such high-level political dialogue is seen as an important factor in maintaining stability and advancing common interests across the broader Eurasian region.
