Singapore-based fintech company 8B has announced its full-scale expansion into the Kazakhstan market following the successful completion of a pilot phase in 2025.
8B specializes in providing payment solutions for banks and e-commerce platforms using national fast payment systems and QR infrastructure. A key factor behind the company’s decision to enter the Kazakhstani market was the launch of the Unified QR Code, which is expected to become mandatory for all banks in the country in the near future.

The company has extensive experience working with similar systems in India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and other markets, as well as in delivering cross-border QR interoperability projects.
As part of its market entry into Kazakhstan, 8B is launching three core business lines.
The first business line focuses on the tourism sector. 8B plans to enable airlines, hotels, and ticket booking platforms in Kazakhstan to accept payments from tourists from China, India, and South Korea using familiar national payment methods, including WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UPI.
According to industry statistics, the combined inbound tourist flow from these countries to Kazakhstan exceeded 1 million people for the first time in 2025. An agreement has already been signed between 8B and SCAT Airlines.

The second business line is being developed in partnership with Kazakhstani banks and is aimed at expanding payment capabilities for citizens of Kazakhstan abroad. Users will be able to conveniently pay for goods and services via QR systems in other countries, including Vietnam and Thailand, which are among the most popular travel destinations for Kazakhstani tourists.
The third business line focuses on enabling payments for international online services using “home” payment instruments, including the Unified QR Code. The first project in this segment will be the launch of payments on a leading international digital content platform headquartered in Singapore.

As part of further localization, 8B plans to expand its office presence in Kazakhstan, deploy technical infrastructure locally, and deepen cooperation with the banking sector and regulators.
Settlements with counterparties will be carried out through the Kazakhstan-licensed payment organization Zesta LLP (No. 02-23-179).
