Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Thailand Margulan Baimukhan has presented his Letters of Credence to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, formally beginning his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom of Thailand, DKNews.kz reports.
The solemn ceremony marked not only a protocol milestone but also reaffirmed the steady development of Kazakh-Thai relations.

Message from the President of Kazakhstan
During the audience, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes for good health and prosperity from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s firm commitment to further strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Thailand.
Margulan Baimukhan noted that Kazakhstan, as one of the leading countries in Central Asia, attaches special importance to deepening its partnership with Thailand, which it views as a key partner in Southeast Asia.

Investment, logistics and new growth points
The Kazakh diplomat underscored the country’s strong investment potential. Over the past three decades, Kazakhstan has attracted more than 400 billion US dollars in foreign direct investment, reflecting international confidence in its economic trajectory.
He outlined promising areas for cooperation for Thai businesses, including:
- Agriculture
- Food processing
- Energy
- Logistics and transport
- Tourism
- Advanced technologies
Particular attention was drawn to Kazakhstan’s position as a key Eurasian transport and logistics hub. This role is supported by:
- The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route
- The North–South corridor
- The Western Europe–Western China highway
- Ongoing modernization of railway infrastructure
- Development of dry ports
Kazakhstan’s contribution to global food security was also emphasized, along with:
- Its position among leading oil suppliers to external markets
- The development of a rare earth elements base essential for the green and digital economy
Royal appreciation and support
In accepting the Letters of Credence, King Maha Vajiralongkorn expressed sincere appreciation to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the kind message and conveyed his best wishes for the President’s well-being and for prosperity to Kazakhstan and its people.
The King stressed satisfaction with the close and friendly relations between Thailand and Kazakhstan, noting that bilateral ties continue to strengthen on the foundation of longstanding friendship, mutual trust and respect.
Cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally was positively assessed as progressing in a spirit of goodwill and mutual understanding.
The King expressed confidence that further strengthening of warm relations would contribute to:
- Progress and prosperity of both nations
- Well-being of their peoples
- Peace and stability in the wider region and globally
He also assured the Ambassador of his full support and emphasized that Thai authorities would provide all necessary assistance in carrying out his diplomatic mission.
Growing trade partnership
Economic ties between the two countries are also gaining momentum. Bilateral trade reached around 260 million US dollars in 2025, accounting for more than 70 percent of Thailand’s total trade with Central Asia. This figure clearly reflects Kazakhstan’s role as a major regional economic partner.
The presentation of credentials opens a new chapter in Kazakh-Thai relations, with both sides signaling readiness to expand cooperation across strategic sectors.
