Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held negotiations in Berlin with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Johann Wadephul, reaffirming the steady development of Kazakh-German relations, DKNews.kz reports.
The meeting took place as part of the Kazakh Foreign Minister’s official visit to the German capital and reflected the strategic nature of cooperation between the two countries.

Strategic partnership in focus
During the talks, the sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations. Both ministers confirmed their commitment to further deepening cooperation across key areas.

- Expanding political dialogue
- Enhancing economic cooperation
Strengthening collaboration in sustainable development

Yermek Kosherbayev подчеркнул значимость партнерства с Германией, заявив:
“Germany is a key partner of Kazakhstan not only in Europe, but also at the global level. At the same time, Kazakhstan is playing an increasingly active role in the system of international relations, promoting mutually beneficial diplomacy in the current geopolitical environment and acting as a reliable and responsible actor and a middle power, maintaining a balanced position on key regional and international issues. We stand ready to work with the German side on relevant issues of the multilateral agenda within the framework of the UN, the OSCE and other international organizations.”
Germany’s view of Kazakhstan
Johann Wadephul, in turn, emphasized that Germany regards Kazakhstan as:
- An economically important partner
- A politically significant actor
- A key strategic partner in Central Asia
The exchange of assessments underscored mutual recognition of each country’s growing regional and international role.

Multilateral coordination
The interlocutors also discussed current regional and international issues, reaffirming their shared interest in coordinating efforts at multilateral platforms.
Cooperation within international organizations such as:
- The United Nations
- The OSCE
- Other multilateral institutions
was identified as an important dimension of the partnership.
Regular dialogue and closer ties
The ministers expressed readiness to:
- Further strengthen political dialogue

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to promote closer cooperation between Astana and Berlin in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
