Experts in Islamabad highly praised the outcomes of Tokayev’s visit

A conference dedicated to the outcomes of the recent state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Pakistan was held in Islamabad, bringing together officials, diplomats, experts, and business representatives from both countries, DKNews.kz reports.

The event, titled “Kazakhstan-Pakistan Relations: Post-Visit Reflections and Pathways for Strategic Cooperation,” was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan jointly with the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.

Broad participation from government and expert circles

The conference gathered a wide range of participants, including representatives of:

  • Government institutions
  • Diplomatic corps
  • Academic and expert communities
  • Business circles
  • Leading media outlets

Among the chief guests were Pakistan’s Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media Fahd Haroon, COMSTECH Coordinator General Iqbal Choudhary, Vice-President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Member of the National Assembly Khurram Dastgir Khan, and senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conference also featured the presentation of the book “Pakistan and the Turkic World,” prepared by the Turkic Academy.

Key outcomes of the state visit

In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin outlined the main results of the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Pakistan on February 3–4.

He highlighted the signing of:

  • The Declaration on Strategic Partnership
  • More than 70 agreements and memoranda
  • Commercial contracts across various sectors

The Ambassador also informed participants about several new cultural and academic initiatives launched following the visit, including:

  • The Al-Farabi Center at Quaid-i-Azam University
  • The K. Satbayev Center at the National University of Sciences and Technology
  • The Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Center at the International Islamic University Islamabad
  • The “Dostyk” Sports Center

He also noted the successful holding of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Business Forum.

Dialogue on future cooperation

Speakers from Pakistan and Kazakhstan emphasized the growing importance of bilateral cooperation and the need to build on the momentum created by the high-level visit.

During panel discussions, participants explored key areas for future partnership, including:

  • Regional connectivity and transport corridors
  • Transit potential across Eurasia
  • Cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital technologies
  • Expansion of trade, investment, and economic ties
  • Development of humanitarian and cultural exchanges

Experts highly praised the substantive outcomes of the visit, describing it as comprehensive and strategically focused.

Strong foundation for future ties

Participants unanimously stressed that the recent high-level visit has created a solid basis for further diversification and expansion of Kazakhstan–Pakistan relations.

In concluding remarks, Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin expressed gratitude to the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad for organizing the conference at a high professional level.

The event reflected a shared intention to transform political agreements into practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
