Kazakhstan’s automotive market is entering a new phase. Electrification is no longer just a future trend - it is becoming a real choice for today’s drivers. A clear sign of this shift is the launch of pre-orders for the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P hybrid crossover, a model that combines silent electric driving in the city with long-distance confidence on the highway. The vehicle has already sparked strong interest among local motorists, DKNews.kz reports.

On February 26, 2026, in Almaty, the official Lynk & Co distributor in Kazakhstan, part of the Orbis Auto automotive group, announced the start of pre-orders for the flagship crossover. The model comes with an official manufacturer warranty of 5 years or 150,000 km, highlighting the brand’s confidence in its technology.

Electric in the city, power on the highway

Built on a modern modular architecture, the Lynk & Co 08 is equipped with the intelligent EM-P hybrid system. Its powertrain combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with electric drive, delivering a total output of 350 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque.

Performance is equally impressive. The crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.75 seconds and reaches a top speed of 215 km/h. Starting in electric mode ensures smooth and quiet operation, a major advantage for urban driving.

The 39.6 kWh battery enables up to 200 km of fully electric range under the WLTC cycle. In hybrid mode, the combined driving range reaches up to 1,100 km, making the vehicle suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance travel.

Fast-charging capability adds practicality: replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% takes about 28 minutes, while full AC charging requires around 4.5 hours.

Hybrids become the new mainstream

Interest in hybrid technologies is steadily growing in Kazakhstan. Drivers increasingly seek a balance between fuel efficiency, environmental awareness, and unrestricted mobility for long trips. The Lynk & Co 08 reflects this philosophy.

“Hybrids are no longer a niche product - for many customers they have become a conscious choice. People value the ability to drive on electric power in the city while maintaining freedom for long journeys. The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P combines up to 200 km of electric range with a total range of up to 1,100 km - exactly the balance the market is looking for today,” said Mukhamed Dzhalilov, Director of Lynk & Co Distribution in Kazakhstan.

Premium comfort and advanced technology

The crossover’s dimensions emphasize its flagship status: 4,820 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,848 mm. Ground clearance of 186 mm ensures adaptability to various road conditions.

The combination of a front McPherson suspension and a rear multi-link setup provides a balance of handling and comfort. Electronic systems for energy recuperation, driving mode selection, and stabilization enhance predictability in different driving environments.

In Kazakhstan, the model will be available in Pro and Halo trims. The Halo version focuses on premium comfort, featuring perforated Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated and massage-equipped front seats, a panoramic roof with electric shade, and ambient interior lighting.

A 23-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system delivers immersive audio, while the multimedia suite with a 15.4-inch central display and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster supports over-the-air updates, 5G connectivity, and smartphone integration.

Safety as a core priority

Both trims include a comprehensive package of driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a full suite of active and passive safety features.

The model meets high Euro NCAP safety standards and is designed for drivers who value technology, confidence, and security behind the wheel.

When it arrives in showrooms

Sales of the Lynk & Co 08 will begin in March at dealerships in Astana and Almaty, reach Shymkent in April, and become available in Karaganda during the first half of the year. The brand also plans to open official showrooms in Astana and Almaty in 2026, aligned with Lynk & Co’s global standards.

The pre-order program includes special offers for early buyers, making the launch particularly attractive for automotive enthusiasts eager to be among the first owners.

The arrival of the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P in Kazakhstan signals a strengthening position for hybrid vehicles in the market. Silent city driving, long-distance capability, and advanced technology - this combination defines a new generation of crossovers and a new mobility experience for drivers.
