The date of Kazakhstan’s next presidential election has been clarified. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the vote will take place in 2029, strictly in accordance with the deadlines set by the current Constitution, DKNews.kz reports.
The statement was made after the head of state cast his ballot in the national referendum on the draft of Kazakhstan’s new Constitution, held on March 15, 2026.
“The next presidential election will be held, as required, within the timeframes established by the current Constitution, in 2029,” Tokayev told journalists.
The remark came amid ongoing discussions about major political changes linked to constitutional reforms.
