Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev held a telephone conversation with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, DKNews.kz reports.
The discussion focused on the evolving situation in the Middle East and the growing tensions affecting the region.
Concern over escalation and strikes
During the call, the sides exchanged views on the current developments, including recent strikes targeting the territory of the United Arab Emirates.
Kosherbayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s official position, previously voiced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, stressing the importance of respecting international law.
“Y.Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s position, previously voiced by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and expressed concern over the ongoing escalation in the region, including strikes targeting the territory of the United Arab Emirates.”
Kazakhstan подчеркнуло, что:
- вовлечение нейтральных государств в военные действия недопустимо
- нарушения суверенитета и территориальной целостности стран являются неприемлемыми
- урегулирование должно происходить исключительно мирным путем
Call for de-escalation
Both sides emphasized the need for a rapid de-escalation and a transition toward a political and diplomatic resolution of the crisis.
The ministers underlined that any sustainable solution must be based on the principles of international law.
Strategic partnership and support
Alongside regional issues, the conversation also addressed bilateral cooperation.
Kosherbayev noted that the UAE remains one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in the region, with ties described as traditionally close and friendly.
The Kazakh side also expressed gratitude for assistance in evacuating Kazakh citizens from the UAE.
“Ensuring the safety and return of compatriots to their homeland was a priority task for the country.”

The ministers highlighted the high level of political dialogue and mutual support between Kazakhstan and the UAE within international platforms.
For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Kazakhstan for its support and stressed the importance of coordinated international efforts to maintain regional stability and security.
