FlyArystan has successfully operated its first flight on the new Aktau–Batumi route, expanding travel opportunities between Kazakhstan and one of Georgia’s most popular Black Sea resort destinations, DKNews.kz reports.

The new service follows the launch of direct flights between Astana and Batumi and further strengthens air connectivity between Kazakhstan and Georgia during the summer travel season.

First flight sees strong passenger demand

The inaugural flight FS7729 departed from Aktau International Airport at 09:05 and arrived in Batumi at 09:55 local time.

The journey took 1 hour and 50 minutes.

According to the airline, the first flight operated with a nearly full load factor, demonstrating strong demand for direct travel between western Kazakhstan and Georgia’s Black Sea coast.

Celebrations mark launch of new route

The opening of the route was celebrated at both Aktau and Batumi airports.

The events brought together airport representatives, airline partners and guests.

At Aktau Airport, passengers on the inaugural flight received:

  • welcome refreshments
  • commemorative gifts
  • special launch activities

Upon arrival in Batumi, the FlyArystan aircraft was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute.

Passengers and crew also took part in a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony and commemorative photo session.

Flights to operate throughout the summer

The Aktau–Batumi–Aktau route will operate from June 6 to August 29, 2026.

Flights are scheduled twice a week:

  • Tuesdays
  • Saturdays

Morning departures in both directions have been designed to provide convenience for both leisure and business travelers, allowing passengers to maximize their time in Georgia.

International network from Aktau continues to expand

With the launch of Batumi services, FlyArystan now operates five international routes from Aktau.

The airline’s overseas destinations from the city include:

  • Batumi
  • Kutaisi
  • Baku
  • Urumqi
  • Dubai

The expanded network offers residents of western Kazakhstan greater access to international tourism and business travel opportunities.

Travel requirements for Georgia

FlyArystan also reminded passengers about Georgia’s updated entry requirements.

From January 1, 2026, under Georgia’s Law on Tourism, all foreign citizens entering the country must have valid medical and accident insurance coverage.

Travelers are advised to arrange the required insurance before departure to ensure a smooth entry process.

Why this matters

The new Aktau–Batumi route strengthens tourism and business links between Kazakhstan and Georgia while improving international connectivity for western Kazakhstan.

The launch also reflects growing demand for direct international flights and supports broader efforts to expand affordable travel options for passengers across the region.
