China is becoming more accessible from Astana.
FlyArystan will launch a new direct Astana–Yining (Kulja) service on October 28, 2026, expanding its growing network between Kazakhstan and China, DKNews.kz reports.
The new route will operate twice a week and become FlyArystan’s second service to Yining after the airline launched direct flights from Almaty in 2025.
Flights twice a week
Flights between Astana and Yining will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The schedule is as follows:
- Departure from Astana — 07:55
- Arrival in Yining — 13:20 local time
- Departure from Yining — 15:20 local time
- Arrival in Astana — 14:50 local time
The direct connection gives passengers from the Kazakh capital another option for traveling to China without connecting through other cities.
FlyArystan expands its presence in Yining
The Astana route will become FlyArystan’s second connection to Yining.
In May 2025, the airline became the first Kazakh carrier to launch direct flights between Almaty and Yining.
The route demonstrated steady demand during its first year of operation. In 2026, FlyArystan increased the frequency of Almaty–Yining flights to four times a week.
The addition of Astana means the Chinese city will now have direct FlyArystan connections with Kazakhstan’s two largest metropolitan centers.
More flights between Kazakhstan and China
The new route is part of FlyArystan’s broader expansion in the Chinese market.
In 2026, the airline also resumed flights between Astana and Urumqi and launched several new services:
- Aktau–Urumqi
- Almaty–Xi’an
- Almaty–Chongqing
- Astana–Yining
The expansion increases direct air connectivity between different regions of Kazakhstan and major destinations in western and central China.
Why the new route matters
The Astana–Yining service is significant not only for tourism.
Direct flights can support business travel, cross-border trade and personal connections while reducing dependence on connecting routes for passengers traveling between Kazakhstan and China.
Yining, also known as Kulja, is located in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, relatively close to the Kazakh border. The existing demand on the Almaty route indicates potential for additional direct connectivity with Kazakhstan.
For Astana passengers, the October launch adds another Chinese destination alongside Urumqi and strengthens the capital’s international route network.

The airline’s standard fare includes:
