Kazakh businesses have already established a presence in Ajman. A total of 316 companies with Kazakhstan participation are registered in the emirate’s free economic zone, 87 of which are currently active. The Ajman side has also expressed interest in holding investment roadshows in Kazakhstan, DKNews.kz reports.
These issues were discussed during a working visit by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Rauan Zhumabek, to the Emirate of Ajman. The diplomat held meetings with Ajman Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the leadership of the free zone, and the president of Thumbay Group.
Ajman Seeks Direct Contacts With Kazakh Businesses
During talks with Obaid Al Matrooshi, Director General of the emirate’s Free Zones Authority, the sides discussed expanding investment cooperation and creating favorable conditions for joint projects.
The Emirati side expressed interest in holding investment roadshows in Kazakhstan to present the opportunities available in Ajman Free Zone and establish direct contacts with the Kazakh business community.
There is already a solid base for such cooperation. 316 companies with Kazakhstan participation are registered in Ajman Free Zone, of which 87 are currently operating.
Established in 1988, the free zone hosts more than 20,000 companies from over 165 countries operating in trade, manufacturing, logistics, information technology, e-commerce, and services.
Ajman Crown Prince Supports Stronger Business Ties
Rauan Zhumabek also met with Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.
The Ambassador provided information on the large-scale political and socio-economic reforms underway in Kazakhstan, as well as the electoral period related to the Qurultay.
The sides discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ajman in trade, investment, and tourism.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to support and develop direct ties between the business communities of Kazakhstan and Ajman, facilitate joint investment initiatives, and expand trade and economic cooperation.
Sheikh Ammar has served as Crown Prince of Ajman since 1993. He also chairs the Ajman Executive Council and the Board of Directors of Ajman Bank and is involved in implementing Ajman Vision 2030.
Thumbay Group Explores Healthcare Cooperation With Kazakhstan
Healthcare was another major area of discussion.
During a meeting with Dr. Thumbay Moideen, President of Thumbay Group, the sides discussed cooperation in healthcare, medical education, investment, and potential joint projects.
They agreed to continue exploring opportunities for cooperation, including the development of medical infrastructure, professional training, and the exchange of expertise. Both sides also expressed interest in establishing direct contacts between relevant institutions.
Thumbay Group’s scale is reflected in its infrastructure. The group operates in 26 sectors and brings together 26 brands. Its network includes 7 academic hospitals, 5 medical centers, 3 diagnostic laboratories, and 46 pharmacies.
The group employs around 3,000 people, while its healthcare facilities serve patients from more than 175 countries.
Next Step: Direct Contacts and Investment Projects
The visit outlined several areas for deeper cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ajman, including free economic zones, investment, trade, tourism, and healthcare.
The most concrete indicator is already in place: 316 Kazakhstan-linked companies are registered in Ajman Free Zone. The Emirati side is now considering presenting the zone’s opportunities directly to Kazakh businesses through investment roadshows.
