Legal dialogue is moving to a new level. Kazakhstan and Pakistan have agreed to hold direct talks between representatives of their justice ministries to identify specific areas of mutual interest, DKNews.kz reports.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, and Aqeel Malik, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Law and Justice.
Justice Ministries to Hold Separate Talks
Legal cooperation was one of the key topics of the meeting.
The sides emphasized the need to intensify cooperation between the relevant authorities of Kazakhstan and Pakistan and agreed to organize talks between representatives of the two justice ministries.
The discussions are expected to identify specific areas of legal cooperation of mutual interest.
Kazakhstan and Pakistan Expand Contacts Beyond Diplomacy
The meeting also covered the current bilateral agenda, as well as upcoming visits and events.
The sides noted the strong pace of interaction not only between government institutions, but also among business, academic, cultural, scientific and technological communities, sports federations, and other sectors.
Legal Cooperation to Become a Separate Working Track
The main practical outcome of the meeting was the agreement to move cooperation in the justice sector into a dedicated working format.
The relevant agencies of Kazakhstan and Pakistan are now expected to shift from the broader diplomatic agenda to discussions on specific legal issues.
The next step will be direct talks between representatives of the two countries’ justice ministries.
