Malaysian Business Delegation to Visit Kazakhstan by Year-End

Malaysian companies are turning their attention to Kazakhstan. A delegation from the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce is expected to visit Kazakhstan by the end of the year to seek new partners and explore potential joint investment projects, DKNews.kz reports.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Bulat Sugurbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia, and the new leadership of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, headed by President Norsyahrin Hamidon, Vice President Dzahir Jamudin, and other Chamber members.

Malaysian Delegation to Seek Partners and Projects in Kazakhstan

The main practical outcome of the talks was an agreement to organize a visit by representatives of the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce to Kazakhstan before the end of this year.

The objective is clear: establish new business contacts and identify promising joint projects.

The sides also discussed organizing business missions and expanding direct links between Kazakh and Malaysian companies.

Malaysian Chamber Already Has a Presence in Kazakhstan

The groundwork for this cooperation was laid in 2025, when a representative office of the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce opened in Kazakhstan.

Its role is to provide practical support to Malaysian companies interested in entering the Kazakh market, finding local partners, and implementing investment projects.

The sides now intend to complement this infrastructure with stronger direct ties between business associations in the two countries.

Kazakhstan Positioned as a Gateway to Central Asia

Kazakhstan’s role as a regional platform for Malaysian business was another focus of the meeting.

The sides discussed making broader use of Kazakhstan as a manufacturing, logistics, and investment hub for access to the markets of Central Asia and the Eurasian Economic Union.

For Malaysian companies, this approach means viewing Kazakhstan not only as a standalone market, but also as a base for broader regional expansion.

Business Associations to Strengthen Direct Cooperation

Several business organizations were involved in the discussions.

The sides confirmed their interest in stronger cooperation between the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce, and Kazakh business associations.

The focus will be on trade, investment, business missions, and identifying projects that can move from discussions to practical implementation.

The next concrete step will be the visit of a Malaysian business delegation to Kazakhstan before the end of the year.
