The labor agenda is moving to a new level. Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea agreed to continue joint work on initiatives in labor migration, employment, and the training of skilled professionals, DKNews.kz reports.

These issues were discussed by Asset Yessenali, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea, and Jang Hyun Seok, Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea.

Labor Migration Becomes a Separate Area of Cooperation

One of the key topics of the meeting was the further development of Kazakhstan–Korea cooperation in labor migration.

The sides reviewed the current state of interaction and promising areas that could bring bilateral cooperation to a more practical level.

No specific new employment mechanisms, quotas, or implementation timelines were announced following the meeting.

Kazakhstan and Korea Discuss Training Skilled Professionals

The talks went beyond the movement of workers.

The sides also focused on employment and the training of qualified specialists. These areas are directly linked to human capital development and the needs of the labor markets in both countries.

This approach allows cooperation to cover a broader range of issues, from labor migration to professional training for sectors where skilled workers are in demand.

Astana and Seoul to Continue Work on New Initiatives

The sides identified promising areas of bilateral cooperation in labor and employment, although the specific parameters have not yet been disclosed.

Following the meeting, they agreed to continue joint work on advancing the relevant initiatives.

The next stage of cooperation will focus on three areas: labor migration, employment, and the training of skilled professionals.
