Korean businesses are eyeing new projects. Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities are being discussed ahead of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s upcoming visit to the Republic of Korea and the Central Asia–Korea Business Summit, DKNews.kz reports.
The prospects for cooperation were discussed by Asset Yessenali, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea, and Yoon Cheol-min, Vice President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
KCCI Confirms Interest in Investment Projects in Kazakhstan
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was confirmation of Korean businesses’ interest in implementing new investment projects in Kazakhstan.
KCCI expressed its readiness to support the development of direct contacts between companies from the two countries, including within the framework of upcoming high-level events.
For Kazakhstan, cooperation with one of Korea’s major business organizations provides an opportunity to expand engagement beyond individual companies and strengthen broader ties between the two countries’ business communities.
Tokayev Prepares for Visit to the Republic of Korea
A separate focus of the talks was preparation for the upcoming visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Korea.
The sides also discussed the multilateral Central Asia–Korea Business Summit. KCCI and the Kazakh side agreed to maintain close coordination in preparing for the upcoming events.

For his part, Yoon Cheol-min confirmed KCCI’s readiness to facilitate the development of bilateral business contacts.
The next stage of practical work will focus on preparations for Tokayev’s visit and the Central Asia–Korea Business Summit, where Korean companies’ interest in new projects in Kazakhstan could move toward more concrete cooperation.
