The first introductory meeting between Kazakhstan’s newly appointed Ambassador to Hungary, Anel Bakytbekkyzy, and Kazakh students was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The students are enrolled at various Hungarian universities and represent different academic fields.
Knowledge Gained in Hungary Should Support Professional Growth
A significant part of the discussion focused on the education and everyday life of Kazakh youth abroad.
Anel Bakytbekkyzy emphasized the importance of high-quality education, professional development and the practical application of the knowledge and skills students acquire in Hungary.
For young Kazakhstanis, studying abroad is not limited to earning a degree. During the meeting, students spoke about their chosen fields of study, professional interests and plans for the future.
Participants also shared proposals for joint initiatives and events that could be organized together with the Embassy.
Students Were Reminded About Their Responsibility Abroad
The meeting also addressed daily life in Hungary.
The Ambassador highlighted the special role of students as representatives of Kazakhstan abroad and encouraged them to respect the laws and traditions of their host country.
This is directly connected with the everyday experience of studying overseas: university education abroad also means adapting to a different legal, academic and cultural environment.
Both sides expressed interest in maintaining regular dialogue between the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh student community in Hungary.
International Relations Also Drew Students’ Interest
The conversation went beyond university life.
Anel Bakytbekkyzy briefed the students on the main priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy and the current international situation. Participants also exchanged views on international relations and diplomatic service.
For students interested in international affairs, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss diplomacy directly with Kazakhstan’s representative in Hungary.
The August 23 Election Was Also on the Agenda
Political issues were addressed in a separate part of the meeting, but they were not the central focus.
Students were informed about the upcoming elections of Kurultai deputies, the adoption of the new Constitution, parliamentary reform and the formation of the country’s new supreme representative body, the Kurultai.
Anel Bakytbekkyzy also said that polling station No. 407 at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest will operate on August 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Kazakh citizens who have the right to vote and are permanently or temporarily staying in Hungary will be able to cast their ballots there.
Embassy Seeks Regular Dialogue With Students
Following the first meeting, both sides expressed interest in continuing their engagement.
This format gives the Embassy an opportunity to discuss directly the educational and everyday issues faced by Kazakhstanis studying in Hungary. Students, in turn, can present their own proposals for joint projects and events.
The main outcome of the meeting concerned the student community itself: the Embassy and Kazakh youth in Hungary intend to maintain regular direct dialogue on education, professional development and joint initiatives.
