Tramontina is looking beyond sales alone. During the Brazilian company executive’s visit to Astana, the sides discussed not only promoting the brand in Kazakhstan but also opportunities for investment cooperation, DKNews.kz reports.

Linda Rode, Managing Director of Tramontina, held meetings with Alibek Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and Kanat Alin, Adviser to the Chairman of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.

From brand promotion to investment cooperation

The talks focused on two areas: further promotion of Tramontina products in the Kazakh market and possible formats for investment cooperation, taking into account the potential of both sides.

No specific projects, investment volumes or timelines have been announced. At this stage, the discussions concern possible areas of cooperation rather than a finalized investment decision.

The level of the meetings nevertheless underlines the business nature of the visit. Tramontina held talks both with a government representative and with a representative of Kazakhstan’s national business chamber.

Tramontina discussed opening an Almaty office in 2025

Kazakhstan is not a new market on the Brazilian company’s agenda.

In July 2025, during talks between a Kazakh delegation and Brazilian businesses, Tramontina Regional Director Ginter Leandro Brinkmann said the company intended to open an official representative office in Almaty. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported on the plans at the time.

Linda Rode’s current visit to Astana broadens that discussion. Alongside the company’s market presence, investment cooperation has now become an explicit part of the agenda.

However, the parties have not announced plans to localize production or establish a manufacturing facility in Kazakhstan.

The brand produces more than 22,000 items

Tramontina is widely known for cookware and kitchen accessories, but its product portfolio extends far beyond that segment.

The Brazilian metalworking company was founded in 1911 in Carlos Barbosa, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Today, Tramontina produces more than 22,000 different products.

Its portfolio includes kitchenware and equipment, household appliances, agricultural and gardening tools, products for industrial and automotive maintenance, construction equipment, electrical materials, wooden and plastic furniture, as well as power transmission equipment.

In 2026, Tramontina marks 115 years since its founding.

Kazakhstan and Brazil are expanding business ties

The talks with Tramontina form part of Kazakhstan’s broader engagement with major Brazilian companies.

In 2025, the Kazakh side held talks not only with Tramontina but also with Embraer, Vale, Marcopolo and Amazul. The discussions covered market entry, investment projects and various forms of industrial cooperation.

Tramontina’s next practical step in Kazakhstan has yet to be defined. The company had previously expressed interest in opening a representative office in Almaty and is now discussing an investment dimension in Astana, although the specific parameters have not been disclosed.

DKNews.kz previously reported on Kazakhstan’s talks with Tramontina and other major Brazilian companies, including the Brazilian manufacturer’s plans to expand its presence in the Kazakh market.
