Preordering can cut inflight meal costs by up to 30%. FlyArystan passengers can use the Arystan Café service to select meals before departure, while travelers between Almaty and Astana have access to special combo offers starting from KZT 1,500, DKNews.kz reports.

The airline’s inflight menu includes hot meals, sandwiches, pastries, desserts, snacks and beverages, with options varying depending on the route.

How Arystan Café works

FlyArystan operates under a low-cost model, meaning passengers pay separately for additional services they choose during their journey.

Inflight meals are therefore not included in the ticket price.

Food and beverages are available through Arystan Café, which offers:

  • Hot meals
  • Sandwiches
  • Pastries and desserts
  • Snacks
  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • Meal combos
  • Special dietary meals

Most products can be purchased directly onboard, subject to availability.

Passengers can also preorder meals before departure. According to the airline, this guarantees that the selected meal will be available on the flight and can provide savings of up to 30% compared with purchasing similar products onboard.

Special meals can be ordered in advance

The preorder selection differs between domestic and international flights.

In addition to standard menu items, passengers can choose special meals designed for different dietary needs, including:

  • Children’s meals
  • Vegetarian meals
  • Diabetic meals
  • Gluten-free meals

For passengers flying around breakfast, lunch or dinner, preordering a hot meal can help ensure their preferred option is available.

Advance ordering can also be particularly useful for families traveling with children and passengers with specific dietary requirements.

Most standard meal preorders can be placed up to 24 hours before departure.

Almaty–Astana flights get a special menu

FlyArystan has introduced a dedicated preorder menu for direct flights between Almaty and Astana.

The special offer was developed in response to high demand on the route and provides discounted combo prices compared with comparable standard preorder meals on other routes.

Passengers can still choose other meals from FlyArystan’s regular domestic preorder menu.

Six special combos are available for preorder:

  • Vegetarian pie + 0.2 L juice — KZT 2,500
  • Triangle chicken sandwich + 0.2 L juice — KZT 3,200
  • Pink chocolate doughnut + tea or coffee — KZT 1,500
  • Chocolate doughnut + tea or coffee — KZT 1,500
  • Turkey sandwich + 0.2 L juice — KZT 3,500
  • Cheese sandwich + 0.2 L juice — KZT 3,200

This means the lowest-priced special combo on the Almaty–Astana route costs KZT 1,500.

What passengers can buy onboard

Two special combos are also available for purchase during direct Almaty–Astana flights, subject to availability onboard:

  • Vegetarian pie + 0.25 L water — KZT 2,700
  • Triangle chicken sandwich + 0.25 L water — KZT 3,500

The prices also illustrate the potential benefit of planning ahead. The corresponding preorder combinations with juice cost KZT 2,500 and KZT 3,200 respectively.

How to preorder a meal

Standard meal orders can be placed up to 24 hours before departure through FlyArystan’s website or mobile application.

On the website, passengers need to follow:

Book & Manage → Our Services → Manage Your Booking → Additional Services

In the mobile app:

Services → Baggage, Seat & Meals → Purchase Baggage, Seat & Services → Meals

After passengers select their route, the system displays the preorder menu and prices available for that particular flight.

Special deadline for Almaty–Astana flights

The dedicated Almaty–Astana–Almaty offers have different conditions.

Passengers can preorder these special combos up to 16 hours before departure.

The menu is displayed automatically when making a new booking for a direct flight on the route for tickets purchased from July 1, 2026 onwards.

Once the preorder is completed, the selected meal appears on the passenger’s boarding pass.

During inflight service, passengers only need to show the boarding pass to a cabin crew member to receive their order.

Why preordering can make a difference

For a low-cost airline passenger, the final cost of a journey depends not only on the ticket but also on the additional services selected.

Meal preordering gives travelers greater control over both cost and choice. It can secure a specific meal before it sells out onboard and, depending on the selection, reduce the price compared with buying similar products during the flight.

The dedicated Almaty–Astana menu adds another option on one of Kazakhstan’s busiest domestic air connections, with combo prices starting from KZT 1,500 and a preorder window of up to 16 hours before departure.
