Saudi-based Alfanar Group is showing interest in Kazakhstan. The company is ready to continue talks on participation in energy projects, including renewable energy, power generation and the introduction of modern technologies., DKNews.kz reports.

Prospects for cooperation were discussed by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Madiyar Menilbekov, and Alfanar Group Chairman Abdelsalam Al-Mutlaq.

Alfanar Group Considering Energy Projects in Kazakhstan

The main focus of the talks was the Saudi group’s potential participation in energy projects in Kazakhstan.

The parties identified several areas of interest: renewable energy, electricity generation and the introduction of modern technological solutions in the energy sector.

No specific projects, investment volumes, capacities or implementation timelines have been determined yet. The talks are currently focused on identifying areas that could move toward more detailed cooperation.

Abdelsalam Al-Mutlaq Ready to Continue Talks

Alfanar Group Chairman Abdelsalam Al-Mutlaq expressed the company’s interest in exploring new opportunities to expand its international operations.

The company is ready to continue negotiations with the Kazakh side on promising projects. For Kazakhstan, this creates an opportunity to present potential energy initiatives directly to a major Saudi player in the energy and engineering sectors.

However, the company’s interest does not yet mean that an investment decision has been made. The next stage should clarify which projects the parties consider suitable for further joint work.

Kazakh Companies Could Establish Direct Ties with Alfanar

The meeting was not limited to government-level cooperation.

The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing direct business contacts between Alfanar Group and relevant companies in Kazakhstan.

This could become a significant next step, allowing the dialogue to move from the diplomatic level to direct engagement between companies operating in energy, engineering and infrastructure.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and identify specific areas of cooperation.

Alfanar Has Operated in the Energy Sector Since 1976

Alfanar Group was founded in Saudi Arabia in 1976. The group operates in energy, electrical engineering, engineering services, construction and infrastructure.

Its international portfolio includes projects in solar and wind energy. This expertise could become one of the areas of potential cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The talks with Alfanar come as Kazakhstan continues to expand contacts with other Saudi energy companies. Earlier, we wrote about Kazakhstan’s cooperation with ACWA Power and projects in the renewable energy sector.

The next key question is which specific projects in Kazakhstan could attract Alfanar Group’s interest and move to the stage of direct negotiations between companies.
