The first international findings come tomorrow. International observers monitoring Kazakhstan’s early parliamentary elections will present their preliminary conclusions in Astana on August 24, DKNews.kz reports.

According to the official announcement, the press conference will focus on the preliminary conclusions following the August 23 early parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan.

Press conference starts at 3:00 p.m. in Astana

The international election observation mission will hold its press conference on August 24 at 3:00 p.m. local time (GMT+5).

The event will take place at Hilton Garden Inn, Garden Hall, 15 Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, Astana.

Those unable to attend in person can follow the official livestream, which will be available online.

Four international representatives will present the findings

The press conference will bring together senior representatives of several international observation bodies.

The speakers are Gábor Hajdu, Special Co-ordinator and Leader of the OSCE short-term observer mission; Sevilay Çelenk, Head of the PACE observer delegation; Lucija Tacer Perlin, Head of the OSCE PA observer delegation; and Vincent Piket, Head of the ODIHR election observation mission.

Their participation means the first post-election briefing will bring several international observation structures together on one platform.

The conclusions will be preliminary

The wording of the announcement is significant: the findings to be presented on August 24 are preliminary conclusions.

That distinction matters because Monday’s press conference represents the first formal international assessment following election day rather than a final report on the entire electoral process.

The briefing will therefore become one of the key post-election events after voting concludes on August 23.

Journalists can attend without registration

Media representatives planning to attend the event in person do not need to register in advance.

However, the organizers specify that questions during the press conference will be accepted only from journalists.

After the August 23 vote, international attention will now shift to 3:00 p.m. on August 24, when the observers present their first consolidated conclusions in Astana.
