The stadium will become part of the show. At the upcoming Kazakhstan concerts of Enrique Iglesias, thousands of interactive illuminated wristbands will be synchronized with the music and stage lighting, while an additional stage will be installed in the center of each stadium, DKNews.kz reports.

Kazakhstan is set to become the first country in Central Asia where interactive wristband technology is used in a stadium production of this scale. American concert-production specialists who work on tours and shows for major international artists contributed to the updated production.

Thousands of wristbands will light up at the same time

One of the most striking features of the concerts will be the interactive illuminated wristbands worn by spectators.

Using special technology, thousands of wristbands will be synchronized with the music and stage lighting, changing color and flashing in time with the songs. At one moment, the entire stadium may glow in a single color; the next, a wave of light will move from one stand to another.

That will make the audience part of the visual production instead of simply watching the show from their seats.

According to the concert materials, this will be the first time interactive wristband technology has been used in Central Asia for a stadium show of this scale. The production will also feature large-scale lighting, special effects and pyrotechnic elements.

Enrique Iglesias will perform in the middle of the stadium

Another key element of the production will be a second stage positioned in the center of the stadium.

Iglesias will not spend the entire concert on the main stage. During part of the program, he and his musicians will move into the middle of the audience and perform several songs there.

For a large stadium, the difference is practical. Fans on the field will get a much closer view of the artist, while spectators in the stands will be able to follow the performance from different points around the arena.

The familiar “stage at one end, audience at the other” arrangement will therefore be replaced by a production designed to use the entire stadium space.

More than 60 international specialists are coming to Kazakhstan

A large international team will work behind the two stadium productions.

More than 60 foreign specialists will travel to Kazakhstan specifically to prepare and stage the concerts. Iglesias’ concert program was recently fully updated, with American production professionals involved in major international shows and tours contributing to the new production.

Part of the technical and stage equipment will be delivered to Kazakhstan specifically for the performances. Lighting, sound, visuals, special effects and pyrotechnics are expected to operate as one integrated production.

The two shows are scheduled only two days apart, meaning the production will first be assembled in Astana and then adapted for the Almaty venue.

September 3 in Astana, September 5 in Almaty

Enrique Iglesias will perform at Astana Arena on September 3. The date, venue and ticket information are listed on the official Freedom Ticketon event page for the Astana concert.

Two days later, on September 5, the show will move to Almaty’s Central Stadium. Details for the second performance are available on the Freedom Ticketon page for the Almaty concert.

The dates and venues are also stated in the concert materials provided to the media.

Kazakhstani fans are expected to hear songs familiar to several generations of listeners, including Hero, Bailamos, Escape, Ring My Bells, Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), Súbeme La Radio and other hits.

Tickets are being sold through Freedom SuperApp and Ticketon.kz. Those looking for seats can check the current availability directly through the Astana ticket page or the Almaty ticket page.

Iglesias has sold more than 180 million music releases

Enrique Iglesias is one of the most commercially successful performers in global pop music.

His official biography says he has sold more than 180 million music releases worldwide and holds a long list of Billboard chart records. More information about his career is available on the singer’s official website.

In 2020, Billboard and Telemundo announced that Iglesias would be recognized as Top Latin Artist of All Time at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. The announcement was also published by Sony Music, which cites more than 180 million records sold.

The scale of the Kazakhstan concerts therefore extends beyond the artist’s name alone. Thousands of illuminated wristbands, a second stage in the center of the stadium, pyrotechnic effects and more than 60 international specialists are being brought together for two stadium productions in Astana and Almaty.

We previously reported on preparations for Enrique Iglesias’ Kazakhstan concerts and the shrinking choice of available seats. The newly disclosed production details add another dimension: part of the technical equipment will be brought into Kazakhstan specifically for the shows, while thousands of spectators will themselves become part of the visual performance.
