Following his first-ever concert in Kazakhstan, Enrique Iglesias is taking the show to Almaty, where he will perform at the Central Stadium on September 5, DKNews.kz reports.
The Astana concert took place on September 3 at Astana Arena. It marked Iglesias’ first live performance in Kazakhstan and brought together thousands of fans for an evening built around some of the biggest pop hits of the late 1990s and 2000s.

Thousands of light-up wristbands transformed Astana Arena
One of the most striking elements of the show was the sea of illuminated wristbands worn by the audience.
The wristbands were synchronized with the music, stage lighting and key moments of the performance, allowing the entire stadium to change visually from song to song.
During one of the tracks, the lights across the arena went out at once. Seconds later, thousands of wristbands lit up in the same rhythm, turning the stands into a large-scale light installation.
Fire effects and a major stage production added to the spectacle.
A separate platform was also installed in the middle of the stadium and connected to the main stage by a long runway. Iglesias repeatedly moved into the centre of the venue, bringing the performance closer to fans seated farther from the main stage.

“Hero” brought back a story that began nearly 25 years ago
For many fans, the concert was tied to memories that went far beyond the show itself.
One married couple from Astana said Enrique Iglesias’ Hero had been part of their relationship since their school years, when they rehearsed a ballroom dance to the song.
“Today’s concert is a very personal story for us. My husband and I have known each other since school. In the 10th grade, we prepared a ballroom dance to Hero, and it was during those rehearsals that feelings developed between us. We dated for nine years, then got married, and now we have three children. Just a week ago, we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. And today, almost a quarter of a century later, we came together to hear Hero live for the first time. For us, it is not simply an Enrique Iglesias song — it is the song with which our family began,” the fan said.
Songs such as Hero, Bailamos and Escape have long been associated with the youth of listeners who grew up in the late 1990s and 2000s.
At Astana Arena, many of those memories became part of a collective experience, with the crowd singing along to familiar tracks from beginning to end.

Fans travelled from across Central Asia for the concerts
The Astana audience included visitors from different parts of Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries and other foreign destinations.
Some fans chose to attend both Kazakhstan dates.
One visitor from Kyrgyzstan said she came specifically to see Iglesias twice and planned to travel to Almaty immediately after the Astana show.
“I had dreamed of attending an Enrique Iglesias concert for a long time, so I decided to come to Kazakhstan and go to both of his shows. The Astana concert gave me incredible emotions. Now I am flying to Almaty for the second concert and already looking forward to experiencing it all again,” she said.
For international visitors, the two-city schedule effectively turns the Kazakhstan leg into a short concert trip, with performances in the country’s capital and its largest city just two days apart.

Enrique Iglesias performs in Almaty on September 5
The second Kazakhstan concert will take place on September 5 at Almaty’s Central Stadium.
Ahead of the two shows, the artist’s concert production was fully updated. According to the organizers, leading US-based concert production specialists worked on the new staging.
Fans in Astana have already seen the synchronized wristbands, fire effects, extended runway and central stage platform.
Now Almaty will host the final stop of Enrique Iglesias’ first concert visit to Kazakhstan.
