Astana Motors is bringing the Changan UNI-S compact crossover to Kazakhstan in partnership with the Chinese car brand. According to materials provided by the company, the model will be offered with front- or all-wheel drive and an infotainment interface available in Kazakh, DKNews.kz reports.
Both versions use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 181 hp and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
Two drivetrain options
The company quotes a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 8.3 seconds for the front-wheel-drive version and 9.5 seconds for the all-wheel-drive model.
The UNI-S measures 4,550 mm long, 1,868 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall. The wheelbase differs slightly between versions: 2,656 mm for front-wheel drive and 2,650 mm for all-wheel drive.
The listed driving modes include Eco, Normal and Sport, alongside Snow, Mud and Sand. The supplied specifications do not identify which modes are available with each drivetrain.
Kazakh-language interface and cabin equipment
The UNI-S features a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and voice control, with audio delivered through eight speakers.
For the Kazakhstan market, the infotainment interface is available in Kazakh. Listed cabin equipment also includes a heated multifunction steering wheel, synthetic leather upholstery and multicolour ambient lighting.
Other features include a panoramic roof with a power-operated sunroof, roof rails and a luggage compartment cover.
Driver assistance and safety
The announced driver assistance package includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
Lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance and a traffic jam assist function are also listed. A 360-degree camera system provides a view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
The materials supplied do not specify prices, an exact sales launch date or how equipment will be allocated across trim levels. Buyers will need those details to compare the available versions.
