FlyArystan became significantly more punctual.
The Kazakh low-cost carrier recorded an 84% on-time performance rate in summer 2026, up from 73% during the same period a year earlier, DKNews.kz reports.
According to FlyArystan, the improvement was achieved during the busiest part of the travel season, from June through August. Summer is particularly demanding for airline operations, as schedules become tighter and a disruption on one flight can quickly affect subsequent departures across the network.
Summer punctuality improved by 11 percentage points
The headline figure for June-August 2026 was 84%, compared with 73% in the same three months of 2025.
That represents an increase of 11 percentage points year on year.
The broader trend is also positive. Between January and August 2026, FlyArystan reported an on-time performance rate of 81%, compared with 76% over the same period last year.
For passengers, the significance is straightforward: a higher rate of on-time departures and arrivals reduces the risk of delays disrupting onward travel plans, airport transfers and other parts of a journey.
FlyArystan recorded 83% punctuality in June and July
During June and July, one of the most intensive periods of the summer schedule, FlyArystan's on-time performance stood at 83%.
The airline compares that figure with an average of 70% for European carriers over the same period, citing EUROCONTROL data. On that basis, FlyArystan's result was 13 percentage points higher.
Operational reliability is particularly important for a low-cost airline. Aircraft are typically used on tightly scheduled rotations, meaning a delay on one sector can affect several flights later in the day.

A busy summer schedule leaves less room for disruption
Summer is one of the most challenging periods for airline operations. Flight schedules become denser, aircraft turnaround times are shorter, and operational disruptions can spread quickly through the route network.
FlyArystan attributes the result to the work of teams both in the air and on the ground, including pilots, cabin crew, engineers, operational teams and airport staff.
“First and foremost, this result belongs to our outstanding colleagues working in the air and on the ground. I would personally like to thank our pilots, cabin crew, engineers, operational teams, airport staff and everyone who supports their work every day. Behind every safe and on-time flight are their professionalism, teamwork and genuine care for our passengers,” Eidhagen said.
Operations teams monitor the network in real time
Maintaining punctuality during the peak season requires constant coordination across the airline's operational units. According to FlyArystan, teams continuously monitor the network, make rapid decisions and respond to disruptions as they emerge.
“Maintaining a high level of punctuality during the demanding summer season requires coordinated work across all operational divisions of the airline. It is the result of continuous monitoring, rapid decision-making and prompt response when disruptions occur. Our goal is to maintain consistently high punctuality across the entire FlyArystan network,” said Klim Pak, Manager of FlyArystan's Operations Control Center.
FlyArystan's next challenge is to sustain that performance across its network. The latest figures already show a substantial improvement: 84% in summer 2026, compared with 73% in summer 2025, and 81% for the first eight months of this year.
FlyArystan defines on-time performance, or OTP, as the share of flights that depart no more than 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time or arrive no later than their scheduled arrival time.
