Major projects are moving into implementation.
Kazakhstan and the UAE are now focusing on the progress of investment initiatives in energy, transport, IT and agriculture rather than simply expanding the list of agreements, DKNews.kz reports.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New Delhi on September 12 on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit, according to Akorda.
Astana and Abu Dhabi review progress on existing projects
A key focus of the talks was the portfolio of major investment projects already being implemented by Kazakhstan and the UAE.
The two sides reviewed progress in four areas:
- energy;
- transport and logistics;
- information technology;
- agriculture.
According to Akorda, these projects are expected to deepen economic cooperation and increase bilateral trade.
For Kazakhstan, the focus is increasingly shifting from signing agreements to delivering the projects already agreed upon. During Sheikh Khaled's visit to Astana, the two countries signed a substantial package of documents covering several areas of bilateral cooperation.

Tokayev points to the significance of the Astana visit
Tokayev highlighted the historic significance of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's visit to Astana, saying the agreements signed during that trip had given fresh momentum to bilateral relations.
«Our cooperation is truly multifaceted in nature and spans a wide range of areas. We will continue to do our utmost to sustain and further advance our joint work,» Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The latest talks suggest that implementation is now becoming the key measure of progress. Energy, logistics, technology and agriculture all require projects to move beyond political agreements and into practical execution if they are to contribute to trade and investment flows.

Four sectors are at the center of Kazakhstan-UAE cooperation
Energy remains one of the core areas of Kazakhstan's investment relationship with the UAE. Transport and logistics are another major component, reflecting Kazakhstan's interest in expanding infrastructure and international trade routes.
Information technology adds a different dimension to the partnership. Cooperation in this sector broadens the relationship beyond traditional investment in physical infrastructure and energy assets.
Agriculture is also part of the investment agenda discussed by the two sides. Taken together, the four sectors show that Kazakhstan-UAE economic ties are being built across both infrastructure and technology-driven industries.
The practical test will be the pace at which the projects already under way translate into new capacity, investment and bilateral trade.

Tokayev expects the UAE President to visit Kazakhstan
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE.
Tokayev also conveyed his best wishes to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and said he looked forward to welcoming him to Kazakhstan.
The message signals that high-level contacts between Astana and Abu Dhabi will continue as the two countries work through the investment commitments already on their agenda.
