Kazakhstan has condemned deadly attacks on Saudi Arabia. In an official statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country strongly denounced Houthi militant attacks on civilian infrastructure that resulted in human casualties, DKNews.kz reports.

Astana described the attacks as unacceptable under humanitarian principles and international law, calling for an immediate end to the violence and a diplomatic resolution of the conflict.

Kazakhstan calls for an immediate end to the attacks

The Foreign Ministry stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure is unacceptable and warned that continued attacks could undermine efforts to stabilize the situation in Yemen.

According to the statement, such actions also complicate attempts to reach a political settlement of the long-running conflict.

Kazakhstan called for the attacks to stop immediately and emphasized that the crisis must be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

Astana expresses solidarity with Saudi Arabia

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the country's solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the attacks.

It also emphasized Saudi Arabia's right to protect its sovereignty and national security in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

The statement highlights three central elements of Kazakhstan's position:

  • Strong condemnation of attacks on civilian infrastructure that caused human casualties.
  • A demand for an immediate cessation of attacks and a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis.
  • Solidarity with Saudi Arabia and recognition of its right to protect its sovereignty and security under the UN Charter.

Why the conflict in Yemen matters

The Houthi movement is a major party to Yemen's prolonged conflict. Attacks affecting neighboring Saudi Arabia add a regional dimension to the crisis and complicate efforts to achieve lasting stability.

Kazakhstan's statement specifically connects the attacks on Saudi civilian infrastructure with the broader challenge of resolving the conflict in Yemen.

By calling for diplomacy rather than further escalation, Astana has reaffirmed its support for a negotiated settlement based on international law.

The Foreign Ministry did not provide the number of casualties, identify the facilities targeted or announce any additional measures in response to the attacks.

We previously reported on Kazakhstan's demand to end attacks on civilian oil tankers in the Black Sea. At the time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called for an immediate cessation of attacks on civilian infrastructure, highlighting the importance of international law and the protection of critical facilities.
