Kazakhstan has called for stronger cooperation among Turkic states. Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi took part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) ahead of its 13th summit, according to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on political dialogue, trade, transport connectivity and cooperation in advanced technologies, reports DKNews.kz.
The meeting was held in preparation for the summit under the motto "Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Deed." Ministers exchanged views on strengthening cooperation within the organization and discussed current international and regional issues.

Kazakhstan highlights unity, trade and transport links
In his remarks, Tileuberdi emphasized the importance of further strengthening unity and solidarity among Turkic states.
He called for deeper political dialogue and closer economic cooperation, with particular attention to trade and transport logistics across the OTS region.
These priorities reflect the role of regional connectivity in developing economic relations among member states. Transport corridors and logistics networks are especially relevant to countries seeking to strengthen trade links across Central Asia and neighbouring regions.
The ministerial discussions focused on cooperation rather than announcing new infrastructure projects or specific investment commitments.

Turkistan's AI summit shapes the digital agenda
Special attention was given to the outcomes of the informal OTS summit held in Turkistan on May 15, 2026, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development."
According to Tileuberdi, the meeting gave fresh momentum to the organization's digital agenda and established a foundation for closer cooperation in artificial intelligence, innovation and advanced technologies.
The discussions highlighted several priorities for cooperation:
- Strengthening political dialogue and solidarity among Turkic states.
- Expanding trade and economic cooperation.
- Developing transport and logistics connections.
- Deepening cooperation in artificial intelligence, innovation and advanced technologies.
For Kazakhstan, the digital agenda represents an additional area of cooperation within the OTS, alongside established political and economic priorities.
The ministerial statement did not announce new AI projects, funding commitments or implementation deadlines.

Foreign ministers approve draft summit documents
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers adopted several documents aimed at developing and expanding the activities of Turkic organizations.
They also reviewed and approved the draft final documents prepared for the 13th OTS summit.
The announcement did not specify the titles or detailed provisions of the adopted documents. The approved drafts will form part of the preparations for discussions at the leaders' summit.

What the meeting means for Kazakhstan
The discussions reaffirmed Kazakhstan's interest in strengthening cooperation among Turkic states across several interconnected areas.
Political coordination, trade and transport connectivity remain central to the agenda, while artificial intelligence and advanced technologies are gaining greater attention.
The reference to the May summit in Turkistan also indicates that digital development remains part of the organization's ongoing discussions.

The next stage will be the 13th OTS summit, where the prepared outcome documents are expected to be considered at the leaders' level. The practical results will depend on the decisions adopted and their subsequent implementation.
