On September 7, 2021, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia and Non-Resident Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Philippines Daniyar Sarekenov met with Nathaniel Imperial, Assistant Secretary of the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs – Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.
The high-ranking diplomats held discussion on the current state of Kazakhstani-Philippine relations, ways, prospects and potential of their further development for the benefit of the two countries.
Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the strengthening of the Asian component of its foreign policy, of which the countries of Southeast Asia constitute an integral part.
Of 10 countries in the region, for 3 years in a row, the Philippines ranks 3rd in terms of GDP, being behind only Indonesia and Thailand as per this indicator. Kazakhstani-Philippine relations are developing in the spirit of the Joint Declaration on Friendship and Cooperation, signed in 2003 during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Philippines. This year, both countries celebrate 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
