In order to deepen and expand bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Swiss Confederation, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov and Secretary of State for Economy of Switzerland Marie-Gabriel Inaichen-Fleisch signed a Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Swiss Federal Council on Trade and Economic Cooperation signed in Almaty on May 12, 1994 (Rules on Internal Regulation of Trade in Services), Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

The document provides for deepening trade and economic cooperation by providing national and most-favored-nation treatment for goods, creating a joint committee, and also covers provisions on intellectual property. The signed Protocol is aimed at ensuring transparency and predictability of licensing procedures and requirements, in particular, licensing and qualification requirements and procedures for obtaining the right to carry out activities in the service sector.

The Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Swiss Federal Council on Trade and Economic Cooperation signed in Almaty on May 12, 1994 (Rules on internal regulation of trade in services) was signed during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation.

For reference: The volume of mutual trade in services between Kazakhstan and Switzerland according to the National Bank of Kazakhstan for 2020 amounted to 201.2 million US dollars, which is 11.3% higher compared to the same period in 2019 (178.5 million US dollars). Exports amounted to 104.6 million US dollars, imports - 96.6 million US dollars.
