On December 6, 2021, an exhibition of children’s drawings dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kazakhstan and 76th anniversary of the independence of Indonesia was opened within the walls of the National Library of Indonesia. 60 works by young artists of Kazakhstan and Indonesia on the theme of friendship between the two countries, culture, folklore and national traditions of the Kazakhstani and Indonesian peoples have been presented to the public. The authors of the best works were awarded with commemorative prizes. Earlier, the works of children were exhibited in the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, Delovoy Kazakhstan reports.

At the same time, on the threshold of the celebration of the anniversary date for Kazakhstan, a photo exhibition about Kazakhstan was opened in the National Library of Indonesia. Those who wish to ‘touch’ Kazakhstan from a distance can satisfy their cognitive interest by plunging into the world of large-format photographs about the nature and sights of the once nomadic state.

The children’s art and photo exhibitions will last until January 6, 2022. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia Daniyar Sarekenov, the newly appointed Ambassador of Indonesia to Kazakhstan Fadjroel Rachman and his predecessor Rahmat Pramono, and the head of the National Library of Indonesia Muhammad Syarif Bando took part in the opening ceremony of the events.

Taking advantage of the solemn moment, the Kazakhstani diplomat handed over the books of Kazakhstani writers translated into English to the National Library of Indonesia. These works, including the historical novel and trilogy by Ilyas Yesenberlin ‘Nomads’, collection of scientific articles by Karjaubay Sartkojauly ‘The Kazakh Turkologist’s Notes’ and collection of works by Abish Kekilbayev ‘Seven Ballads’, will add up to the collection of Kazakh literature named after Abai Qunanbaiuly, which was opened in the building of the Indonesian institution in 2020.
