Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov instructs to increase rate of revaccination of the population

The sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered at the Government session chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov Delovoy Kazakhstan reports. 

Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat reported on the deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country. There is a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection in the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and Atyrau region, which have entered the red zone. The yellow zone includes Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar and Mangystau regions.

To date, more than 9.4 million people have been vaccinated with the first component, over 8.7 million — with the second component. About 670 thousand people were vaccinated.

“Our main task is to keep the epidemiological situation under control. It is necessary to strengthen measures to ensure that the population complies with sanitary and epidemiological requirements,” Smailov said.

The Head of Government instructed the Ministry of Healthcare and akimats to increase the number of PCR tests, conduct operational monitoring and ensure the readiness of medical workers, hospital reserve beds, as well as the sufficiency of medicines and medical devices.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to activate the work of mobile teams to provide medical care at home, provide them with free medicines, and work out measures to prevent drug shortages in pharmacies.

Smailov instructed the Ministry of Healthcare and akimats to significantly increase the rate of revaccination of the population. Akims of the regions were instructed to take this issue under personal control.

The Head of Government expressed gratitude to all medical workers of the country.

“In this difficult time for the country, they are providing assistance to the injured around the clock, saving the lives of the wounded. Doctors have experienced the aggression of terrorists who seized hospitals and ambulances. Dear medical workers, thank you for your professionalism and heroism, for your readiness to provide assistance to the population in any conditions,” Smailov said.
